ARTWORK > All My Oakland Homes + Studios

These works are a play between structure, both the organic and man-made type, and consciousness. The paintings were made from numerous visits to the neighborhoods of each of the homes and studios I occupied over the years I lived in Oakland, California. They were intended as a remedy to what I find limiting, banal and mundane about contemporary American cities. As a result, these small colorful gouache paintings invite the viewer to explore urban spaces in an intuitive, undefined, and fantastical manner.
